Then on Sunday morning we had a transition—installation service. Michael Garman is transitioning so he can focus more on his new business and in serving the city and county in civil government. Michelle Harding was installed as senior leader at the church. It was a seamless transition! The leadership and the people of the church agreed this was the will of God!
During one of his messages, Nathan referred to the November presidential election. He mentioned a phrase that many of us have either said or felt: “if the election turns out a certain way, our nation will lose the next 40 years of its future”. Then he said: ‘it takes no faith to make such a statement’. That hit me like a thunderbolt. If we just speak from a natural and political perspective, then I can see why we might say this. But, we the Body of Christ, while being politically alert, must not declare things that require no faith. The Apostle tells us that whatever is not of faith is sin. (Romans 14:23c). Much of what is heard in the Church and in the culture today is ‘Fear Speech’. We, the people of God need to express “Faith Speech’. We must decide if we are going to be informed by the truth of Christ’s advancing Kingdom or by the news media. No matter who wins in November, our task and mission do not change! Let’s not pray, declare, predict, or prophesy anything that requires no faith! It is indeed transition time in the Body of Christ and in America (and in the world). Let refuse to embrace fear and let us express our faith based on His Word!
