THE CHRISTMAS WORD
In this season, we celebrate the coming of God, the Son into the earth. God the Son, the second Person in the Godhead, was given, and Jesus, the child of Mary, was born in Bethlehem (Isaiah 9:6). This truth is known as the Incarnation, which means the eternal Son of God took on humanity. The apostle John declares this truth in John 1:14: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us..." The Word (Logos) is the second Person of the Trinity who was with God in the beginning and who participated with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit in creating the heavens and earth (John 1:1-3 and Genesis 1:26).
Jesus, the Logos, is the full and perfect expression of God's nature, character, will and ability. Jesus is the "first" Word from God and He has the "last" Word from God. Mankind needs no other word about God or from God. He is God's pure word, perfect word and prophetic word. He expressed the heart of God and the thought of God. We could even say: "He is the Logic of God." All human logic and philosophy must deal with Him. People may choose to ignore Him or dismiss His claims, but He keeps on speaking to all mankind. He is the relentless Word that will not and cannot be silenced!
